So Long... Summer

Oh the sadness that looms as summer ends. Anyone else with me? Summer is everything. I live for it. I crave it. I love it. I thrive in it. Summer is pure joy, pure happiness.

  • Pure joy, pure happiness

  • Sun, sand and sea. Beach is my happy place!

  • Boundless energy and fuelled inspiration

  • Pool swims and warm evenings

  • Floaty dresses and sun‑kissed bare skin

  • Abundancy of vibrant colours

  • Minimal, glowing makeup

  • Whirring fans

  • Holidays and beach walks

  • Garden yoga and bright skies

  • Dramatic, colourful sunsets

  • Butterflies and glitter pool floaties

If you love summer’s easy breezy freedom, the shift can feel like a loss. But if you love reinvention, styling and ritual, the turning of the seasons is full of possibility. My words for 2026 – as seen in my early January instagram post - Breathe. Trust. Abundance. Presence. Faith. Gratitude. Fearless . And with this in mind these are the reasons why I am not going to hate winter this year.

  • Breathe: deep winter breaths to rest, reflect and make small mindful choices.

  • Trust: believe my energy will be fuelled by log fires and unexpected rainbows.

  • Abundance: receive seasonal gifts of rest, clarity and depth instead of scarcity.

  • Presence: go outside and notice winter textures - light, chill on skin, bare branches’ sound.

  • Faith: hold hope and trust in new growth and possibility.

  • Gratitude: savour nourishing food, warm baths, nourishing oils and cozy clothes.

  • Fearless: choose courage in the quiet, cold and contraction of body, mind and soul.

As summer winds down, many of us crave ritual, comfort and a sense of intentional beauty. Let’s put it into perspective.

  1. Winter gives you permission to experiment with fabric and textures - tactile knits, suede, leather, rich velvets and oversized scarves create drama and tactile joy.

  2. Richer colours and mood. Deep jewel tones, warm neutrals and dramatic contrasts are naturally flattering and feel luxe.

  3. Skincare reset. Cooler months are perfect for repair, hydration and gentle renewal - an opportunity to prioritise skin health.

  4. Ritual & self‑care: winter invites slower moments - baths, face masks, warm oils, and time to reconnect with yourself.

  5. Skin repair: less UV exposure gives a chance for restorative skincare treatments.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Pantone Colour of the Year 2026 is PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, described as a billowy, soft off-white that represents calm, serenity, and a desire for clarity. Whilst I am all about colour, there’s a definite love in my wardrobe for white, which offers a sense of peace, focusing on minimalism, relaxation, and a fresh start.
